"I take pictures like Jimmy Page, and I play guitar like Ansel Adams." –Anonymous

Not really true, but I love this quote!

The play of light on our world and the things in it inspire my work. A scene is never the same twice so I feel fortunate if I am present to witness and capture an image in a way that will inspire others. Although I grew up on the streets of Brooklyn, summers spent in the Pocono Mountains of  Eastern Pennsylvania sparked my love for the outdoors and nature. I am an avid hiker and birder, and , of course,  I always have my camera with me!

Photography has been a love of mine since my teenage years. My first camera was a Kodak Vigilant Junior (I still own it). Needless to say, I have shoe boxes full of family snapshots, vacation pictures, etc. About 15 years ago, I decided to develop this lifelong passion and spent much of my free time learning both the technical (darkroom) and creative side of making images. My craft evolved with the digital age and my darkroom today includes all the technology needed to produce quality archival images.

In 2004, my lifestyle changed radically. I semi-retired, moved with my wife, Sydney,  from San Francisco to Bisbee in Southeast Arizona. I  now have free time to explore and photograph the specialties of this amazing land called the Southwest.
